The members of the core committee of the BJP for the Uttar Pradesh have been summoned by the high command to hold discussions in the Delhi on Tuesday regarding the political affiars of the state in wake of coming lok Sabha election along with the organisational issues in the state.
The proposed core committee meeting assumes significance as it has been convened at a short notice and it is believed that the thorough scrutiny of the state organisation will be done mainly in wake of unrest erupted after the announcement of the state officers and chairpersons of the frontal organisation. Those invited for the meeting included all the former state party presidents, party leader in legislative Assembly, and legislative Council, central office bearers from the state and few other senior leaders besides the state party chief.
According to the sources the inclusion of several office bearers have invited sharp reaction and criticism among rank and file matter has been taken up to the central leadership headed by the party president Rajnath Singh. There have been several complaints about the reently concluded two day meeting of the state working committee. The state leadership might be asked to explain why many senior leaders were not included in the state working committee.
It is also expected that the national party president may announce the incharge of the party for the important state which has 80 lok Sabha seats, very crucial for the coming battle to rule the centre. It may be recalled that during the regime of Nitin Gadkari, the then national general secretary Narendra Singh Tomar was the incharge of the state who was assisted by Radha Mohan Singh and Karuna Shukla as coincharges.
Eversince Rajnath Singh took over the charge of the national president of the party, the apoointment of the new incharge for the state has been awaited. However it is not clear yet that incharge will be from outside the state or some one from Uttar Pradesh as party had both expamples in the past. If some one from UP has been given the responsibilty of the incharge then the authority of the state president is surely to be undermined which will also be an indicator that present state preasident has lost favour from party high command considerably.
However the top of the agenda will be the preparedness for the coming lok Sabha election as party is desperate to improve its tally which stands at a meagre 10 at the moment. If insiders are to believed that present state of affairs was not very encouraging in this regard and state leadership might get a beating on the issue.
