BJP govt has betrayed people in UP: Sisodia

Published on:

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia hit out at the Yogi Adityanath government, saying that the Bharatiya Janata Party regime had betrayed the people of the state.

He was speaking at a press conference during his visit to Lucknow.

Sisodia said he accepted UP cabinet minister Sidharth Nath Singh’s challenge for an open debate on health and education and was in Lucknow for it.

“But the BJP minister neither responded nor attended the debate,” he said.

Sisodia drew parallels between Uttar Pradesh’s model of governance and that of Delhi and said UP’s electricity policy had caused the public to reel under its pressure.

“The ridiculous price hike, the worsening conditions of the government hospitals and the lack of constant water supply had worsened the public life further,” he commented.

About schools in UP, the AAP leader said the government schools in Delhi were improving with each passing day, averaging on above 90 per cent from its students and the situation had bettered.

“In UP, the government’s stagnant, outdated and mismanaged model of education has only led the students astray, with them scoring around 60 per cent at the very best,” he claimed.

Taking a jibe at the Yogi government, Sisodia said “they keep making promises to the people, but fail miserably when it comes to delivering the promises.”

He said the Aam Aadmi Party was an organisation that was exclusively pro-people. He shared a vision of good governance that Delhi has already witnessed first hand, and expressed desire on implementing it across Uttar Pradesh.
