The day Allahabad High made a scathing observation on the BJP MlA’s involvement in Unnao rape case, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath defended the action by saying that his government would not compromise on corruption and crime and would take action against the guilty.
“The BJP government handed over investigation to the CBI and I believe the agency will arrest the MlA soon. Our government will not compromise on crime, no matter how influential the accused is and he will not be spared,” the CM said in his reaction to the Unnao incident.
Yogi said that the BJP government worked on the principle of zero tolerance on crime and corruption. “Directives have been issued that anyone found guilty should not be spared and prompt action be taken against him,” the CM said.
Yogi said that when he came to know about the crime, he immediately ordered the formation of a SIT and officials were asked to go to Unnao and submit a report by the same evening. “Following its recommendations, an FIR was lodged and several policemen were suspended,” he pointed out.
“The same day District Magistrate of Unnao also carried out a probe and found doctors to be lax after which they too were suspended. These actions could be taken only because of the good work being done by Special Investigation Team (SIT),” he said.
The reaction of Yogi Adityanath came after the CBI arrested rape accused and BJP MlA from Bangarmau (Unnao) Kuldeep Singh Sengar from his Indiranagar residence in lucknow early on Friday morning.
