The state unit of BJP has expressed concern over rising crime in Akhilesh Yadav government particularly over growing kidnapping saying the situation in the state has gone out of hand.
''The crime situation in the state was rising at an alarming rate and now kidnapping has also become an industry in the state. Even as concern shown by Chief Minister
Akhilesh Yadav, the police machinery is yet to work,'' said BJP state spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak in a statement here on Sunday.
Pathak said the recent kidnapping of some people in Mirzapur was a serious matter. ''The government has failed to control the crime and now the recent spurt of kidnappings has made the situation more critical,'' he said.
Recently, four youths were apprehended in Noida when they kidnapped a student of Amity University and collected Rs 80 lakh from the family for his release.
Meanwhile, in another statement Dr Manoj Mishra said that both Samajwadi Party and Bahujan samaj Party were trying to grab power in Centre by fanning caste politics.
"People of the state want development. They are not fed up with casteist politics and want to see UP marching to the path of development," Dr Mishra said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
He said that where SP is keen to organise backward caste sammelans the BSP is planning dalit conclaves. Both the parties believe that if they can keep their castes base in tact their parties would steal thunder in next lok Sabha elections.
"Voters are now matured. They want road, power and food and would not sacrifice development on the altar of caste," he said.
