Hitting out at the Akhilesh Yadav government, the BJP said that law and order situation in the state is very bad as the women were not safe and the police acts only to cover up its failure.
National president of BJP’s OBC Morcha, Prof SP Singh Baghel said in lucknow that a girl Neetu Pal was gang raped and killed in Ballia. The girl had passed CRPF written admission test and was preparing for physical test. “She was waylaid in the early morning of January 24 and was raped and killed. When pressure was mounted, the police arrested a person and claimed the case had been solved,” he alleged.
He said Neetu was a well built girl and it was not possible for a single man to overpower her and outrage her. She must have been gang raped. “There is indication that the local police was trying to protect some influential people,” the BJP leader claimed.
“A delegation of BJP leaders met the SP, Ballia and requested him to get the case reprobed to arrest the real culprits. Unfortunately, the police chief is yet to react,” he said adding that this showed that the police was trying to protect some people.
Baghel said that the law and order in the state is very bad. “People are scared of venturing out in the evenings. Now women are not safe in the early hours. Government should act immediately otherwise the BJP would be forced to take to streets,” he said.
