Emphasising on fulfilling the promises made to the people, Union Home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that Bharatiya Janata Party was determined to serve the people and develop the country.
After releasing the BJP's Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra for the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls here on Tuesday, Shah said that BJP called its manifesto a Sankalp Patra – a promise to the people.
"Only BJP is the party which is not just limited to making announcements but ensures that these announcements actually take shape. The Sankalp Patra the BJP has released today is not just a manifesto, it is the resolution of the UP government," Shah said, adding that there were 212 resolutions in the BJP's Sankalp Patra in 2017, out of which 95 per cent had been fulfilled.
Talking about the achievements of the Yogi Adityanath government, Shah said the BJP government had waived the loans of about 86 lakh small and marginal farmers amounting to Rs 36,000 crore.
"With this, about Rs 4.72 lakh crore loan has been made available to the farmers. A lot of work has been done for farmers and agriculture in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The prime minister sends Rs 6,000 to the farmers every year in their accounts due to which small and medium farmers have got the benefit of being free from debt," he said.
Shah said whether it was the economic development of UP, infrastructure work, good governance, or welfare for the poor or education sector, the BJP had fulfilled all its resolutions.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that between 2012 and 2017, there were more than 700 riots in UP and hundreds of people were killed. He said due to this, curfew was imposed in Uttar Pradesh for months. He said traders used to migrate and daughters could not go to school.
"Today, after five years, the riots in Uttar Pradesh have ended. There is no curfew in UP today, but the Kanwar Yatra comes out with great pomp," he said and added that today it could be said that there was a rule of law in Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi Adityanath said that the BJP had released the Lok Kalyan Sankalp Patra for the next five years to make a difference in the lives of 25 crore citizens of Uttar Pradesh. “By working under this, we will make Uttar Pradesh the number one economy of the country,” he said.
