The Bharatiya Janata Party state president laxmikant Bajpai demanded action against those officials who invoked National Security Act (NSA) on Party MlAs and threatened to move a privilege motion in the House.
We are saying from the beginning that invoking NSA against Sangeet Som and Suresh Rana is unconstitutional and their privilege has been breached as they were MlAs", claimed laxmikant Bajpai while demanding suspension of District Government Council, Senior Superintendent of Police and District Magistrate of Muzaffarnagar, who all invoked NSA against BJP leaders. He said that if action has been not taken by the government than BJP will move a privilege motion in the next Assembly session. The advisory committee of the High Court revoked NSA against Som and Rana just on last Thursday. Addressing media persons in a press conference at Muzaffarnagar on Saturday morning, BJP state president raised some question before the State government.
Why no arrest has been made in killings at Baliyan and Jauli Nahar on September 7 or why not the remaining accused in killing of Gaurav and Sachin have been made so far, why just Rs 25,000 has been given as compensation for burnt tractors when they costs between Rs 4lakh to Rs 6lakh, or why compensation has been not given against the cane crops which was burnt by the miscreantsIJ", laxmikant Bajpai asked the government.
Criticising biased action of the police, laxmikant Bajpai said that in Mohamedpur Raisingh hamlet in which armed miscreants attacked one Rajendra and later three persons killed in violence and that too in police presence, why action has been not taken against all the accused and just a 84-year-old man and Rajendra were arrested in the case.
The manner in which police is taking action just against one community would result into another major clash anytime", warned BJP state president while making appeal that administration should use the same yard stick against the trouble makers if they wanted to defuse the situation in Muzaffarnagar. He also flayed Government’s decision to give Rs 5 lakh compensation for rehabilitation just to family and claimed that any such government order mentioning a particular religion is also a violation of Article 32 of the Constitution.
