BJP concerned about cane & farmers, others about Jinnah: Nadda

Hitting out at the opposition parties, Bharatiya Janata Party national president JP Nadda said that the BJP was concerned about production of sugarcane and its farmers but others were just interested in promoting Jinnah.

He said the Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav governments had closed and then sold sugar mills but the Yogi Adityanath government restarted them.

"When the novel coronavirus came, the leaders of opposition parties preferred to stay indoors, but BJP workers went out and continued to deliver food to the needy. Medicines were also delivered," he said while addressing the BJP's regional (west zone) booth presidents’ convention in Meerut on Saturday.

Nadda said the BJP workers had worked hard to send home the migrant workers who walked hundreds of kilometres to reach their homes during the COVID-19 induced lockdown.

He said that it was possible only in the BJP that a person like Nadda could become the president of the party. "But in other parties the situation is different. A leader of a party is not ready to give anything to his uncle. In other parties too, only son, sister and father will get all the posts and the rest will clap. Other parties talk about caste and religion and will give respect to Jinnah. Only BJP is trying to keep the country united," Nadda added.

The BJP president said Narendra Modi ji saved the lives of 130 crore people. He said earlier, vaccines used to reach India with a delay of 20 years, but Modi ji delivered the vaccine against novel coronavirus within nine months. “Those who call Modi Tika - BJP Tika (vaccine) are getting the same vaccine jabs,” he added.

Nadda also slammed Samajwadi Party, saying, “These dynastic products sell the national interest for themselves. These people had given patronage to terrorists too.”

BJP state president Swatantra Dev Singh said that today the booth presidents’ conference of west zone was being organised as the basic mantra was winning the booths.

Several other BJP leaders also addressed the meeting.
