Union Home minister Rajnath Singh urged people to give a decisive mandate in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party so that the party could take the state to the path of progress and development.

Addressing rallies at Kasta Assembly segment of lakhimpur Kheri and Bharthana segment of Etawah, Singh said that it is the BJP’s commitment of development of state through inclusive development and clean governance.

“People of Uttar Pradesh elected Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and nobody can deny that our PM has raised the honour and prestige of the country manifold globally through his work,” he said.

Talking about the surgical strikes in September last year, Singh said: “We showed to the world that we can not just fight this side of the border, if the need arises, we can even cross the border and snuff out terror camps there too.”

The Home minitsre also stressed on how development in UP has suffered because of the power tussle and family feud in the Samajwadi Party (SP). “If they had to indulge in all this drama, they should have done it before forming the government. Why all this drama at the stroke of the election. Was this scripted to get emotional mileage,” he asked.

Commenting upon the Congress-Samajwadi Party (SP) alliance, Singh said that it was Mulayam Singh Yadav who opposed the Congress tooth and nail and now his son has entered into an alliance with the same party.

Singh stated, “Under Samajwadi Party’s rule, crime rate increased manifold. law and order situation worsened. If the BJP forms the government, all anti-social elements would be taken to task,” he said.

Promising a host of policy reforms and schemes for the benefit of farmers, women and students after the BJP comes to power, Singh said that all farm loans would be waived off and farmers will get agricultural loans on 0% interest rates.

Talking about his government’s strong intent of fighting the menace of black money, teh Union minister said that after coming to power in 2014, the BJP government’s first decision was to form a Special Investigation Team on black money.

Singh further added: “Demonetization was a historic step and was a war against black money, terrorism and a war against these elements will continue.”

The Union minister also criticised parties who played with the future of youth for political gains. “When I was Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, I introduced ‘Anti-copying’ law which was overturned by the Samajwadi Party (SP) government after they came to power. They played with future of the young people and even God will not forgive them for this.”

Rubbishing the development claims made by Akhilesh Yadav, Singh appealed to the people to votes for `kamal’ (BJP’s election symbol), if they wanted real development in Uttar Pradesh.
