Alleging that Akhilesdh Yadav Government has failed to take action against corrupt BSP ministers, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that Akhilesh Yadav has lost the moral ground to govern because he came to power with a promise to take corrupt politicians to task but had failed to do so. “In its election manifesto the Samajwadi Party had claimed that it would probe monument scam and bring to the fore truth behind sale of sugar mills. The Government has completed its half tenure but is silent on these charges,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in a statement issued here on Tuesday. He said that it all started with allegation of sale of sugar mills at throw away process to private businessmen. The SP leaders had then claimed that if their party comes to power it would set up an enquiry into these deals. Then leaders said there was a scam in construction of memorials and would order a probe. But nothing happened.
“Why the Samajwadi Party Government is giving safe passage to the BSP whom it claims to be corrupt. If BSP leaders are corrupt the Government should take action,” Pathak said.
He said there is a quid pro quo relationship between SP and BSP. When Mayawati was in opposition she had claimed that her government will throw Mulayam Singh Yadav behind bars. She ruled the state for five years but did nothing.
“And now Samajwadi Party is feeling shy to open sugar mill sale scam,” he said.
Pathak also said that the Government has failed to quell small incidents failing which these transform into big law and order problems. What happened in Hathras could have been resolved there and then if all the accused in gang rape case were arrested. But the administration delayed the process forcing people to come out on the streets “The Akhilesh Yadav has lost the moral authority to government. He should relinquish the post immediately,” BJP spokesman said.
