BJP campaign remains unsuccessful

The much-hyped BJP campaign to gherao police stations across state was reduced to photo opportunity with senior leaders giving it a miss and BJP workers came, raised slogans and left after clicking some pictures.

The campaign was planned with an aim to highlight poor law and order situation in the state. The party workers were asked to stage protest outside police stations. Senior leaders preferred to stay back leaving the floor open for party workers.

In state capital the protest was held at some places but the intensity was missing. A small time party worker said that they were asked by Vidhayak ji to reach Ghazipur police station. We, about 10 people, reached there but no one was there except us. WE raised slogans against government and came back with in 10 minutes,” he said smiling ear to ear.

There is in fact no co-ordination. Probably senior leaders will come and stage protest at Hazratganj if adhyaksh ji (Keshav Prasad Maurya) leads the protest. Nahi to the sab aise hee hai, he said.

However, BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that the campaign was a a great success. Workers staged protest at many police stations of lucknow, Kanpur, Firozabad. Etawah and other parts of the state. “The party workers have highlighted poor law and order scenario. The agitations have been very successful,” he said.
