BJP blames SP for not utilizing the budgetary allocation

Published on:

Blaming Samajwadi Party Government for not utilizing budgetary allocation, the state unit of the BJP said that the budget proposed by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was anti-farmer and would fail to give impetus to development. “Chief Minister might have declared the next fiscal year as Farmers’ Year (Kisan Varsh) but the fact is Government has not proposed any measure to benefit farmers,” BJP state president Dr lakshmi Kant Bajpai told reporters here on Tuesday.

He said that farmers are facing the brunt of mis-governance. The wheat and paddy purchase centres have failed to perform as per expectations. The operations of these centres was so poor that farmers preferred to sell their produce to middle men, Dr Bajpai said. “The budget proposal is silent on extending relief to potato farmers and cane growers. The Government claims that it has fulfilled all the promises it had made during election.

If that is so why the government has failed to set up Farmers’ Commission as suggested by the party in its election manifesto,” the BJP chief said. He even gave details of different departments who have failed to utilize its budget. “The government has spent just 0.02 per cent of the budget of Irrigation (construction) department. The social welfare has utilized 34 per cent budget while Muslim waqf Board could spend just 17 per cent of its allotted budget till now,” he said. Dr Bajpai said this shows that Government is not serious in carrying out development.

The government talks much but does less,” he said.
