Upping its ante against suspended Noida’s chief engineer Yadav Singh, UP BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai said that party has handed over all the documents and evidences related to the scam to the tune of over several thousand crores to the CBI investigating the case. “The party has sent all the documents and evidences related to the Yadav Singh case to the CBI. The 159 page documents were sent on Friday,” he told reporters here. The Supreme Court has ordered a CBI probe against Yadav Singh.
He, however, ridiculed Akhilesh Yadav government for scuttling the probe against Yadav Singh by setting up a judicial commission. “Never in the past judicial commission was set up to probe a financial scam. There was an attempt to save Yadav Singh and other officials of the Noida and Greater Noida Authorities by setting up judicial probe,” he said.
Bajpai even said that the present Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman was trying to shield Yadav Singh. “We will appeal to the CBI to probe all the tenders given by Yadav Singh since December 1995. Investigation should also be done on the acts of the then Noida officials Rakesh Bahadur, Sanjeev Saran, P K Agarwal, Rajesh Prakash and Manoj Rai,” Bajpai said.
He also charged that at least five close relatives of Yadav Singh— brother Gyan Chandra as law officer, nephew Gyan Bharati as assistant law order, nephew Rajiv Kumar as Junior Engineer, brother-in-law Hari Babu as office superintendent and son Sunny Yadav as project Manager , Greater Noida are illegally employed with Noida and Greater Noida Authorities.
The UP BJP president said that he is yet to receive reply of the questions sought from Rama Raman on the functioning of the Noida Authority as per the RTI Act.”We are yet to get reply and if by March 2 officials refuse to give us the reply we will move the state Information Commission,” he said.
The BJP leader questioned how did Noida authorities give clean chit to Yadav Singh by hushing up the CB-CID probe and handed over the reigns of three Authorities— Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway— to a tainted officer.
