Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati slammed the Yogi Adityanath government for making fake claims of development of Uttar Pradesh and alleged that now the Bharatiya Janata Party was back on its communal agenda.
In two tweets posted on Thursday, Mayawati took a dig at the government saying, "The BJP's development claims before the UP elections have been exposed and have turned out to be hollow. Now the party has returned to playing with religious sentiments and Hindu-Muslim division, etc. But people will not be deceived again, which is also evident from their mood."
The BSP chief further said that as per latest Reserve Bank of India data, there was stagnant per capita income in UP and people remained “poor and backward”, which proved that the BJP's claims of development were mere hot air balloons. “Now the general belief is that the claims of BJP's development were just fake and rhetoric. Why is this even here in their 'double engine' government?" she questioned.
