BJP asks state government to spruce up its intelligence network

The state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has asked state government to spruce up its intelligence network as even Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission has blamed intelligence failure for the reasons for incidents of conversion in Aligarh and Agra. “The Minority Commission’s report has raised a big question mark over the working of the state government. The BJP had been saying for long that police and local intelligence have failed to check crime. And now the UP Minority Commission has said the same in its report,” BJP spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.

He said that Chief Minister who is heading the police and intelligence departments should take note of the report of UP Minority commission and take action against the guilty at the earliest. The Minority Commission in its report has blamed the intelligence officials for their failure to read rumblings in Agra and Aligarh. It has also demanded action against the local Intelligence Unit officials.

Pathak said that senior crimes are being committed on regular basis in the state but the police is not able to bring the criminals to book. “This has been proved beyond doubt that senior SP leaders are giving political patronage to the criminals and police has remained a mute spectator,” he said. The BJP spokesman also raised the issue of crime against women in the state capital. He said badly hacked body of a girl recovered in trans Gomit area is a reminder that women are no longer safe here. “People are fed up with this government are will teach Akhilesh Yadav a lesson in the coming election,” he said.
