BJP asks Mulayam not to field candidate from minority community

Questioning Samajwadi Party’s Muslim prem, the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party asked as why Mulayam Singh Yadav has not fielded any candidate from the minority community in the forthcoming bye-elections.

“This is strange that Samajwadi Party always talk about welfare of Muslims. But when time come to deliver it looks towards Yadav clan. In the last lok Sabha election all the Muslim candidates fielded by SP and BSP lost elections. If SP’s Muslim prem was genuine it should have fielded a Muslim candidate from Mainpuri. Instead, the party fielded a candidate from the Yadav family,” BJP state president laxmi Kant Bajpai told The Pioneer here on Monday.

He said that the seat was vacated by Mulayam Singh Yadav. If he had sacrificed his seat for a Muslim the message should have gone well among the members of the minority community. Then SP’s Muslim prem should have been justified. But now it looks  sham, he said.

“The Samajwadi Party has always used the muslim card for its own benefit and now Mulayam is more interested in sending his grandnephew to the lok Sabha rather than any muslims,” he said.

Bajpai said that this time the people of Mainpuri would teach the Yadv family a lesson. Donot be surprised if Samajwadi Party loses this bye-election from Mainpuri. “People are coming in large nuber to listen to BJP leaders. Yogi Adityanath’s election meetings are drawing more crowd than Mulayam Singh Yadav’s meetings. This is a clear indication about the outcome,” he said.

“The Samajwadi Party knows that. Therefore it is using official machinery to tamper the elections. But use of para-military forces would negate all the dirty tricks of district administration,” Bajpai said.
