Alleging a large scale corruption in mining the state unit of BJP said that the present government has failed to stop corruption in this sector instead it is taking pride in allowing Rschori’ during mining.
BJP chief spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that Minister of State for Mining Gyatri Prasad Prajapati during review meeting of the department said that in the previous regime people used to go for large scale loot in mining sector while in SP regime it is reduced to theft - which is allowed.
"The statement speaks volumes about the mindset of the minister and the Samajwadi party government. If the minister allows theft and publicly acknowledges it, how can Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav talk about controlling corruption in the government working," Pathak said in a statement issued here on Tuesday.
He said the same minister had constituted three probe teams on April 26 and had asked them to submit report within 15 days. It is more than 60 days now since the order was issued but the probe report is yet to see the light of the day.
"Instead of talking about that report the minister of state talked about allowing theft instead of dacoity in the mining department," Pathak said.
Earlier also a senior SP minister Shivpal Singh Yadav had said that small thefts are allowed in government working if the officials work diligently. The statement had drawn flaks from all quarters including media and opposition.
In another statement BJP spokesman said that the state government was doing politics on the name of giving compensation. The compensation to martyrs is decided on the basis of religion and caste.
"When Kumda CO Zia-ul Haq died while on duty the government sanctioned Rs 50 lakh and gave service to the widow of the salin official. Similary, when SHO Allahabad R.P Dwivedi while shot dead by criminals while in duty not a single penny was given to his widow," Pathak said and asked: "Why this discrimination. The Government cannot stamp martyrs with religion and caste. They are valiant soldiers who have died fighting criminals and should be treated equally."
