In a sensational attack, a young Bhojpuri female singer was seriously injured after a youth attacked her at her house in Sarailakhansi area of Mau on Tuesday night.
The police said that Bhojpuri singer Soni Sinha hadgone to Varanasi for a recording and was entering her house when a youth identified as Rahul Kumar trailed her and entered her house. Before Soni Sinha could notice the starnger and react, the youth attacked her with a knife. The singer raised an alarm after which some neighbours rushed to her rescue after which the assailant escaped.
Sinha was immediately rushed to the district hospital with multiple injuries. A case was registered by the local police and search operations were on to nab the accused.
In Azamgarh, a former village pradhan was stabbed to death over a petty dispute at a marriage function on Tuesday night. His kin however caught hold of one of the attackers and lynched him.
Shyampyare Pasi went to ledaimadpur locality of Mehnagar to attend the marriage function of his kin Gehnuk Dhanwasi’s daughter on Tuesdaynight. While having dinner, he had a tiff with Jitendra and Vijendra who were also attending the party from groom’s side. The matter took an ugly turn when the duo attacked Pasi with knives killing him on the spot. Agitated with the killing, the bride’s kin managed to nab Jitendra and battered him to death while Vijendra escaped. A case was registered and the bodies were sent for autopsy.
Meanwhile in Kasganj, a 11-year-old girl was kidnapped and murdered onTuesday evening.
The daughter of Jitendra of Sirpura locality was kidnapped by unknown miscreants. The victim’s family reported the matter to the police and launched a search. On Wednesday morning, the body of the girl was found inside a nullah with injury marks caused by sharp edged weapons. Circumstantial evidences suggested that she was sexually assaulted before being murdered. A case was registered and efforts were on to identify the accused and arrest them.
Elsewhere in Ballia and Deoria districts, a woman and a teenage Dalit girl were raped during tyhe last 24 hours.
In Bansdih area of Balli, a 14-year-old girl was raped by three persons on Tuesday nigh. local resident Ajay Paswan took the girl to his home where he and two others allegedly raped her. SP of Ballia, Sujata Singh said that an FIR was registered and Paswan was arrested.
In Deoria, a 19-year-old girl went out to ease herself on Tuesday night when she was abducted by five persons and raped at a secluded place in Bhaluani area. The victim somehow reached her home on Wednesday morning and narrated her ordeal to her family, who later informed the police. A was registered and efforts were on to nab the accused.
