Bhim Army chief a stooge of BJP. says Mayawati

A day after Bhim Army founder Chandrashekhar Azad alias Ravan held an impressive roadshow in Varanasi and announced to contest election against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BSP supremo Mayawati hit out at the BJP for trying to promote Ravan to divide the Dalit votes of her party.

Dubbing Chandrashekhar Azad as a “stooge” of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Mayawati said that the ruling party was promoting the young Dalit leader to ensure victory of Narendra Modi from Varanasi.

“Ravan is an agent of the BJP, as the party is behind the formation of  Bhim Sena which later engineered the Dalit-Thakur clash  which led to violence in Sabbirpur  village of Saharanpur  district in  April 2017,” Mayawati. said

The Bahujan Samaj Party supremo alleged that the entire conspiracy was hatched to establish Chandrashekhar as a leader of the Dalit community.

In a statement here on Sunday, Mayawati said that at first, the BJP sent Ravan to jail and then freed him for their own narrow political ends.

“Ravan even tried to join the BSP so that he could act as a spy of the BJP. But the conspiracy failed as we rejected him,” Mayawati said.

The BSP president asserted that Dalits were aware of the conspiracy hatched by the BJP and the community would reject Chandrashekhar in Varanasi.

“The sudden appearance of Chandrashekhar in Varanasi proves the close links between Bhim Army and the BJP,” she said.

The Bhim Army is emerging as an alternative Dalit force in UP and recently, even  Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra  met Chandrashekhar in  Meerut for seeking his support during the Lok Sabha polls. But he rejected the offer and announced to contest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi.
