In a unique way to register protest against atrocities on farmers in the BJP regime, the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) will hold Yoga on all the highways connecting lucknow on June 21.
The farmers protest will coincide with the International Yoga Day function in lucknow which will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President of BKU, lucknow division, Harinam Singh Verma said that the ‘Farmers Yoga’ will be held between 5 am to 9 am blocking all the highways connecting lucknow during that period.
However another group of farmers will also hold yoga at the Gandhi Smarak in Hazratganj area of lucknow during that period.
Verma said that the farmers will do Yoga and broing with them wheat, rice, sugarcane, milk and other agriculture produce to lodge their protest.
Though the BKU has asked the people to support the farmers agitation and avoid using highways during the protest period, it said that emergency services like Ambulances and Defence vehicles will not be stopped.
The announcement of protest by the farmers have raised security concern for the lucknoww district administration in view of the PM’s visit as he would be attending the International Yoga Day festival to be held at Rama Bai Rally ground on June 21. Over 55,000 volunteers are likely to take part in Yoga with the PM and the CM.
