Samajwadi Party state president and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav assured the state carpet industry that Bhadohi would be developed as a model export centre and the process had been initiated.
The carpet town has been linked with lal Bahadur Shastri airport at Babatpur through 4-lane road to facilitate foreign carpet buyers to come for their business negotiations directly with the carpet manufacturers and exporters of Bhadohi. Yadav said two railway over bridges had been sanctioned and work was in progress to ease the traffic flow, which has become a menace as a result of which foreign buyer hesitate to come to the town.
He said the Government also planned to construct Exhibition Mart in Bhadohi so that the manufacturers and exporters of the town could display their products before the carpet buyers. The Exhibition Mart, he said, would also become the permanent venue of the India Carpet Expo.He pointed out that such exhibition marts were already functioning in Kanpur and lucknow. Yadav was addressing a rally in favour of Samajwadi Party candidate Seema Mishra at Fattupur maidan.
Targeting the previous Bahujan Samaj party regime, Yadav said that no new power plant was installed during the in the Mayawati rule to ease the power crisis while the hard-earned money of the people was spent on installing statues and construction of memorials. He said that his Government had sanctioned three power plants which would minimise the power problems faced by people, particularly the industries, including carpet industry. Criticising the much hyped Gujarat model of development, Yadav said what the Samajwadi Party Government did in two years in Uttar Pradesh, the Gujarat Government led by Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had failed to do in 12 years.
He said Modi could be ahead in publicity, but Uttar Pradesh was far ahead in implementation of welfare works.“The laptops distributed among youths have enthused them to acquire knowledge to face the future,” he added. Yadav said he had allowed the MlAs of all parties to use their local area development fund even to provide treatment of cancer, liver diseases and other chronic ailments. He said the SP Government had started the 102 Ambulance service for pregnant women and it was available free to take them to hospital and bring them back home. He said the state Government had also sanctioned direct promotion in the police force.
Yadav appealed to people to vote for the SP candidate for their betterment. The meeting was presided over by Pradeep Yadav and conducted by Jata Shankar Maurya. Prominent among those present included Zahid Beg, Madhubala Pasi, Vijay Mishra (all MlAs), Hasnain Ansari, Gulaman Ansari and Sharda Prasad Bind.
