Beware of conspiracy, drama by BJP, SP, Cong: Mayawati to Dalits

With her focus on the 2017 Assembly polls, BSP chief Mayawati appealed the Dalits, tribals and backwards to be wary of “conspiracy” and “drama” by the BJP, the SP and the Congress of voicing false concern to garner their votes.

“There is a nexus between the BJP and the SP in the state due to which tries to polarise votes by creating communal strife. Meanwhile, the Congress is trying to make up lost grounds by staging padyatras,” she said while addressing media persons in lucknw on Thursday. Mayawati said PM Narendra Modi’s emotional speech in lucknow over the suicide of research scholar in Hyderabad was just a hoax and his statement on Dr Ambedkar a quip.

“Intolerance has indeed risen during the BJP regime where dalits, tribals and backwards are the most targeted people in the country,” she alleged.

Attacking the Congress, the BSP boss said that the leaders in UP were forcing their ‘Yuvraj’ in ‘paidal’ (foot) march and having food in the house of dalits for vote bank politics. “But these efforts will not pay off at all in the Assembly polls,” she asserted.

Training her guns at the SP regime in UP, she said that atrocities against dalits are on the rise and they are being targeted. She added that the situation has gone from bad to worse. “This is a fact publicly admitted by SP chief Mulayam Singh, who even said that serving ministers and leaders were involved in rampant corruption,” said Mayawati.

Claiming that the a harsh decision could not be taken on reservation by the BJP due to BSP’s opposition, Maywatis said that the  RSS has expressed its desire to abolish reservation and lok Sabha Speaker  Sumitra Mahajan too has demanded a review of the reservation thereby toeingthe RSS line. Demanding reinstatement of minority status to  Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) and Jamia Milia University, the BSP chief said the logic offered by BJP to end the status, is lame. Mayawati also demanded that Bharat Ratna be conferred to Kansi Ram for his dedication towards the uplift of dalits. “If the BJP and the Congress are concerned for the dalits, then they should support reservation in private sector besides passing the Act on promotion in reservation,” said the BSP chief.
