Union Minister for Steel Beni Prasad Verma asked to ban use of word `Shahzade’. He also took on Mulayam Singh Yadav over his remarks as well as action against him in the name of violation of model code of conduct and demanded also to put a ban on Samajwadi Party supremo.
``The leaer of the Party which restricted use of taking words like `Raja, Kunwar, Maharaj’ etc is now being called as `Shahzade’ which is just like a abuse for every Congressmen”, claimed Beni Prasad Verma. He was reacting to Bharatiya Janta Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s jibe against Congress vice-president. ``In Congress there is no Raja or Shahzade but everyone is equal”, Beni added while accusing BJP of promoting such things by setting aside the entire Party and just promoting Modi. Union Minister made above claims while talking to media persons here on Monday evening.
Further taking on Samajwadi Party supremo, Beni Prasad said that cases of violation of model code of conduct has been just lodged against him as he exposed Mulayam Singh Yadav before everyone. ``Mulayam Singh is making a vendetta politics and using the government machinery to settle scores with me”, alleged Beni Prasad Verma. He said that he would meet Election Commissioner and register a complaint in this regard and will demand to put a bank on Mulayam Singh Yadav just like the Commission but on Azam Khan and Amit Shah. Besides, he would also ask the Commission to restrict use of government machinery against him by the ruling Party. He alleged that no action has been taken by the state government machinery even when Mulayam Singh Yadav is openly criticizing the Acts which have been duly passed by the Parliament.He was referring to recent comments of Mulayam which he made against Rape law.
Further taking on BJP, Beni Prasad Verma while remembering Bharat Ratna, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, said that the saffron brigade just remembered Baba Saheb as they wanted to woo Dalit community. ``BJP is just remembering Ambedkar for votes as it was surprising that the Party which demolished disputed shrine in Ayodhya on the same day when entire nation observed death anniversary of Baba Saheb is now showing his concern for the great Dalit scion”, Beni claimed.
Meanwhile another case of violation of election code of conduct had been lodged against senior Congress leader Beni Prasad Verma for using objectionable language against BJP’s prime minister nominee Narendra Modi. The FIR was lodged against him at Itiyathok police station of Gonda district on Sunday night. He was charged of using unparliamentary language against Modi during a public speech in Kasba Bazar of Itiyathok town. Earlier, an FIR was lodged against him at Sadullnagar of Balrampur district under the same charges on April 8. Beni Prasad Verma is Congress candidate from Gonda parliamentary constituency going to polls on May 7.
