Former union minister, Beni Prasad Verma, made a frontal attack on Mulayam Singh Yadav, and accused the former chief minister of turning the national convention of Samajwadi Party (CP) into a family convention.
``Mulayam Singh Yadav is already using the SP just to promote his family members but much to his shock, SP supremo who claimed to be strong advocator of socialist movement had turned the Party’s national convention into family meet”, alleged Congress Working Committee (CWC) member, Beni Prasad Verma, questioning his one time friend to explain him the meaning of being a `socialist’. ``In Parliament, the SP is represented just by one family and not a single other member, and now in the Party’s national meet too, the entire stage seems to be occupied by Mulayam Singh and his family members”, added former union steel minister.
Verma was reacting while interaction with some media persons here at his residence on Friday afternoon. When asked that SP has put even his photograph during the convention to remind the old days, Beni refused to react saying that it might be conincidence as the photographs are of the days when he was with Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Without further attacking Mulayam Singh Yadav or SP, senior Congress leader diverted his attack on Narendra Modi, saying that even when Narendra Modi became prime minister of the country, still neither the local public nor the people living in other countries took him as PM of the nation.``The People of America not like Modi playing Gujrati dandiya or Garbha there and even president Barrach Obama, greeted Modi saying Khemchu PM, thus drubbing him as PM of Gujrat and not of India”, cited Verma while terming that the act of Modi showed that he is still leader of Gujrat and not of India.
Congress leader also took on Modi over his recent move to organise functions during coming Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary of October 31 and Pandit Jawahwar lal Nehru’s birthday on November 14. ``Modi had decided to organise functions during Indira Gandhi death anniversary or on Panditji’s birthday just as he wanted to wash his hands from blood of innocents killed in Godhra at Gujrat and to remove a tag of being a communal leader”, cited Verma, clarifying that it is his personal opinion and nothing to do with the Party. ``Modi very well know that BJP had no international and even national level leaders whose honour would give him a secular face so he made a diplomatic move to remembers leaders like Sardar Ballabh Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar lal Nehru or Indira Gandhi, to build up his image before the masses”, asserted Beni adding that Narendra Modi never had any respect for the above leaders but is now just making politics over them.
