Senior Congress leader and member of Party’s highest working body, Congress Working Committee (CWC), Beni Prasad Verna, make a targeted attack on the Party senior leaders who continued to enjoying house of profit by not resigning form posts in the Commissions or even as Governors etc.
Interestingly, Beni chose to open his mouth cannon just a day after UPCC leaders completed two day of exercise to shun out differences and brought the oldest political outfit of the Country back on track.
``People expect high morality from political leaders and we are also bound to live to their expectations only then the credibility of any political outfit would remain so in my view, all the Congress leaders who were sitting in the Commissions or even as governors etc should submit their resignation immediately after people voted United Progressive Alliance government out of power”, asserted Beni Prasad Verma. Former Union minister seems to be targeting his arch rival, Pl Punia, chairman of the SC Commission, though he avoided to take his name openly. Punia, had so far out rightly rejected question of his stepping down following Congress defeat on the ground that he was holding a constitutional post.
Beni Prasad further targeted state president, Nirmal Khatri and AICC general secretary, Madhusudan Mistri, who is also incharge of Party affairs here in UP, though he also not took their names.
``Those who led the Party during last Parliament elections in which we witnessed worst ever defeat should follow the footsteps of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and must tender their resignations as it will set a good example before everyone”, Beni added saying that both Sonia and Rahul, had submitted their resignations though the CWC rejected it as they knew that there are various reasons which led to Party’s poor performance and not their leadership. Beni Prasad demanded that the leadership should issue notices to all such leaders who instead of showing `Morality’ continued to enjoy their postings and take appropriate action.
Interestingly, former union minister who never missed an opportunity to attack prime minister Narendra Modi, had praises for him along with AICC vice-president, Rahul Gandhi, for not going in coalition with Shiv Sena and NCP. ``I would like to congratulate both Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi for their decision to go alone in Maharastra election as it would go a long way in helping the two national political parties, Congress and the BJP to wipe out regional outfits like NCP and Shiv Sena from the political scene”, claimed Beni Prasad Verma, while advocating that only the national parties government could better lead the growth of all the States, parallel to that of the Country.
Meanwhile hailing the decision against Tamil Nadu chief minister in disproportionate assets case, Beni Prasad Verma said that the decision would prove a milestone in cleaning the political system and said that many more such heads would role in the near future so every politician must be cautious about their conduct.
When asked about the recent move of Mistri and Khatri for revival of the Party in UP, Verma refused to make any comment but claimed that in his opinion, strengthening of Sewa Dal workers would definitely facilitate Congress to take on the RSS, the real face of BJP, and bring back the party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi in the next Parliament elections. ``Sewa Dal is a real dedicated force of the Congress and they must be strengthened to empowered the Party back to power”, asserted Beni.
