The Uttar Pradesh government has allowed bars and clubs serving India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) to resume normal operations from 10 am to 9 pm. However, bars in containment zones will remain closed.
The permission to open was however subject to certain restrictions.
As per orders issued by the Excise Department, bars and clubs will implement the guidelines for social distancing and sanitisation issued by the Central and the state governments.
Liquor at the bar will not be served at the counter and it will be mandatory for all employees to use masks and gloves during business hours.
Bar owners have been directed to not allow the entry of any person without thermal scanning and only 50 per cent seating capacity will be allowed inside the bar.
