Ban beef export yadav says to PM

Published on:

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ban beef export from India now that he ws in power. Yadav was speaking at a function to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi  in lucknow on Friday.

“During the 2014 lof Sabha poll campaign, Modi had lambasted the Congress led-UPA of unleashing ‘pink revolution’ in India thus threatening the pastoral economy of the country. He was equally critical of  the fledgling beef export. This translated into huge support for him and his party in north India. Now that he is PM and saddled in power, what is preventing him from acting on his promise and ban beef export,’’

The CM took a further dig at the PM saying : “Our Prime Minister is a globe trotter. He is engaged in aggressive marketing of the country for attracting FDI in India. He should also look at the food habits of people in different countries.’’

“We should refrain from interfering in each other religious beliefs and customs. Our dharma and our ancient philosophy teaches us to live and let live. We should respect each other’s faith and focus on pressing issues,” said Yadav.

Referring to the Dadri incident, Akhilesh Yadav said that a lot can happen due to rumours and often they snowball into a major incident which threatens the secular fabric of our society. “That is exactly what happened in Bisara village of Dadri,’’ said he.

PWD minister Shivpal Singh Yadav too attacked the BJP and demanded the dismissal of MP from Noida and Union minister of state for Culture, Mahesh Sharma for terming the incident as an ‘accident’.

“ It’s the standard operating procedure of the Sangh Parivar. First they foment communal passion. later they make provocative statements before the media to add fuel to the communal  divide for narrow political ends,’’ said he.

Meanwhile the Samajwadi Party rejected the charges levelled by the Congresson Saturday. UP Congress chief Nirmal Khatri had charged the party of communally polarising the state for political dividends.

SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhary said that it was amsuing to see Congress speaking in the language of the Sangh.  “ With it spolitical existence threatened in UP, the Congress is levelling charges only to assert its relevance,” said the SP leader.
