After much controversy over ‘ghar wapsi’ programme of Dharam Raksha samiti, now the Bajrang Dal is all set to launch ‘bahu laao, beti bachao abhiyan,’ in Uttar Pradesh from the second week of February.
Under the programme, the Hindutva outfit members will visit girls’ colleges to create awareness about ‘love jihad’. Members will also
approach mothers having sons of marriageable age in order to persuade them to allow marriage of their sons to those Muslim or Christian girls who are willing to marry into Hindu families.
UP co-convener of Bajrang Dal Avneendra Pratap Singh alias Ajju Chauhan said that ‘bahu laao, beti bachao’ campaign is aimed at
stemming the ‘love jihad’ campaign by Muslims in the country. He said, “Hindu community is being targeted with this concept. Hindu
girls are cheated in the name of marriage and then sold into different corners of country. We are doing this for protection of Hindu girls. But we guide Hindu men to respect and welcome girls of another
religions.”
“The aim of the campaign is to save Hindu girls from ‘falling into the trap’ of ‘love jihadis’. It is also aimed at making Muslim or
Christian girls daughters-in-law in Hindu households so that they can learn the rich cultural and traditional values of Hinduism,” he said.
The Bajrang Dal will start the fresh campaign from February 17 to protect Hindu boys who marry Christian or Muslim girls called t as
bahu lao-beti bachao campaign. The campaign also aims to sensitise Hindu families against their girls
falling in love or getting married to Muslim or Christian boys.
