Bajpai lashes out at CM for blaming BJP

Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party Government, state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has failed on all fronts and to conceal his government’s failure it was blaming Centre for non-cooperation.

“Chief Minister has always blamed Centre for lack of development in Uttar Pradesh. Whereas the fact is that UP Government has failed to utilize funds allotted for farm sector including construction of roads,” BJP state president Dr laxmi Kant Bajpai told reporters here on Monday.

He said that Centre has already allocated over Rs 200 crore for renovation of National Highways where traffic is high while another Rs 180 crore has been given for those highways where traffic flow is thin.

“Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had allotted Rs 17,000 crore for widening of highways during his last visit to UP and had promised another Rs 50,000 crore by December 2015. But Chief Minister has ignored this work and is misleading people,” Dr Bajpai said.

BJP state chief said that in power sector whatever demand UP Government has put across to the Centre has been fulfilled. The state has never asked for additional power and if CM claims so it is a white lie. “During UPA Government there was scarcity of coal but both SP and BSP had remained a mute spectator where as in NDA Government all the thermal power plants have reserve for 25-29 days,” he said.

He even said that Samajwadi Party Government was anti-farmer because it has failed to clear cane dues. Despite orders from the High Court the state government has failed to clear dues whereas the Central government has allocated Rs 6000 crore as soft loan for the sugar mills to clear dues.

“The CM says that his government has sent a proposal seeking reservation for 17 castes under SC/ST. The fact is, the BSP government had sent the proposal and SP had spiked it,” he said.

Earlier in the day CM has blamed NDA government for non-cooperation and had criticized BJP for its flop show.
