Badaun rape accused to go polygraphy test

Published on:

Sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation, who were now investigation into the  alleged rape and murder of two minor sisters in Badaun, would now go for polygraphy test of all the named accused. They would later also go for narco and brain mapping tests. The move has been made to extract the truth from their inside before going ahead with the investigation further. Sources also confirmed that if the CBI failed to get any concrete lead as per the allegations made on the accused, they could also go in for similar test of some kin of the victims before taking action in the matter.

``We move in the local court at Badaun to seek permission for conducting of polygraphy, narco and brain mapping  test of all the five accused arrested so far and we also got the permission in this regard”, disclosed one of the cop who is part of CBI team probing the matter. He claimed that they would cross examined all the facts with the accused just to confirm whether they were involved in the crime or the truth is not the same as alleged in the First Information Report. The CBI team so far grilled the local cops particularly who visited the spot and were associated with the investigation at local level. Sources said that CBI team had also sought the Call Details Record (CDR)of over a dozen persons who were on their list of `suspect’ and they wanted to record their actual movement on the day of crime along with the move before and after the crime was committed.

Earlier the Badaun case took an interesting twist when the the top cop of the State denied that the victims were sexually assaulted. ``The autopsy report pointed that the victims were not raped as alleged in the report by the family members”, director general of police, Al Banerjee, disclosed about a fortnight back. Banerjee said that they were even looking whether the allegation made on the accused in the First Information Report, is true or the real story is some different. Interestingly, the UP police came before media with the said development when they already recommended a probe into the matter by the sleuths of Central Bureau of Investihgation (CBI). DGP also informed that the district police chief, Atul Saxena, was suspended for making a probe into the above incident at snail pace. Banerjee claimed that both DM and SSP of Badaun, had shown lethargic approach in tacking the above incident.

Surprisngly, Banerjee’s claims came after more than ten days of investigation, and that too when the entire nation was shocked and demanding capital punishment for the accused involved in such gory crime. Not only this, almost all the political parties showed their utmost concern for the family members of the victims and that a big number of senior leaders, like Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati, Ram Vilas Paswan, Kalyan Singh etc visited Badaun and met the family members. Bahaujan Samaj Party supremo, Mayawati, even handed over a compensation of Rs 5 to the family members of the victim while a similar amount has been also announced as compensation by the state government, but the family members rejected claiming that they need `Justice’ and not `money’.

In may be also mentioned that Centre and State government also lock-horns over the Badaun incident when Ministry of Home affairs questioned State government that why they not initiated legal proceeding against the accused under SC and ST Act. Reacting to above move of the Centre after being questioned, inspector general (law and order), Amrendra Sengar, claimed that no proceedings under SC and ST Act could be made as the victims were not Dalits. ``There in no doubt in the minds of the state government or even at the local administration about the caste of the victims. They both were hailing from Shakiya community which not comes under Dalit so question of registering an FIR under SC & ST act never arises”, he asserted. He also informed that all the five accused-- three brothers Pappu Yadav, Awadhesh Yadav and Urvesh Yadav and constables Chatrapal Yadav and Sarvesh Yadav ---have been arrested in the case. Both the cops also lost their jobs after government terminated their services.

The two teenage girls, who were cousins aged 14 and 15 years, were allegedly gang raped and murdered with their bodies found hanging from a mango tree in a village in Ushait area in Badaun. The girls went missing on May 27 and their bodies were found the next day.
