Uttar Pradesh Sunni Central Waqf Board has said that whatever proposal it has made in the Ayodhya case is for the good of the country and will be approved by all peace-loving people of Hindustan.
UP Sunni Central Waqf Board Chairman Zufar Ahmad Farooqui said on Sunday that they had filed the proposal to seek “complete justice” in the Ayodhya case after holding talks with all members.
He said the Ayodhya issue was very sensitive and the stance of key parties related to it would affect the future of the country, so it had to be handled very carefully.
Farooqui said that he was confident that the Supreme Court would do “complete justice” in the case.
The UP Sunni Central Waqf Board Chairman said, “Any proposal we have made is in the good of the country and if the court approves it then all the favoured Hindus will agree to it.”
He said that at this time many people were supporting the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board. “For legal reasons, we cannot disclose the details of the proposal," he added.
Farooqui maintained that the Sunni Waqf Board had not dropped its claim on the disputed 2.27 acre land at Ayodhya.
“Our proposal should not be interpreted as withdrawal of our claim. The Supreme Court, under Article 142 of the Constitution, has the full jurisdiction to decide on this issue,” he said, and added, “Whenever an effort is made for the settlement of a dispute, some are in its favour while some oppose it.”
