Ayodhya gets tourist police outpost

After Agra, Ayodhya can now boast of having its first tourist police outpost at Nayaghat.
On Thursday, the tourist police outpost was inaugurated by Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Ayodhya constituency, Ved Prakash Gupta.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Thursday that on the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the new tourist police outpost was started to facilitate better services and necessary help to all local and foreign tourists arriving in the temple town.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Ayodhya district, Ashish Tiwari, said that one sub-inspector, a male constable and a female constable had been posted in the outpost while Circle Officer (City) Arvind Chaurasia and CO Ayodhya, Amar Singh, would coordinate the services and ensure that tourists faced no problem during their visit in the town.
The SSP said, “The temple town is visited by millions of tourists from India and abroad due to its mythological importance. After the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya dispute, the visitor inflow, especially from within the country, has grown manifold and devotees are coming in large numbers for darshan of Ram Lalla. This further necessitated the opening of the outpost for helping the tourists.”
