A delegation of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee sought an intervention of the state Governor B l Joshi for taking action against the officials and others who facilitated the activists of Bundelkhand Adhikar Sena to attack the Party leaders and vandalised the party office on last Friday.
The delegation, led by Party leader Ram Krishna Dwivedi, in a memorandum to the Governor, alleged that as BJP president Rajnath Singh is trailing behind Congress candidate Rita Bahuguna Josi in campaigning in the lucknow seat, hence they conspired with the help of former MP Ganga Charan Rajput to attack the Congress office. Stressing that the attack was part of a conspiracy to demoralise the Congress, the delegation demanded that the delay in police action should also be probed. They complained that the attackers arrived after former MP
Ganga Charan Rajput made a phone call to UPCC president Nirmal Khatri which proves his involvement in the crime. Congress delegation sought Joshi’s intervention to get the accused arrested and also to initiate action against senior officials who not responded to Party’s SOS when the goons of Bundelkhand Adhikar Sena attacked the Party’s office.
On the other hand, the accused former MP, Rajput has appealed to the Election Commission to direct the district authorities to file a cross-FIR against Congress leaders, who were involved in beating up the Sena activists. He accused the state government of dancing to the tunes of Congressmen and just taking action against one Party.
Interestingly, earlier to evade action against him, Ganga Charan Rajput disowned his son and said that he had nothing to do with Bundelkhand Adhikar Sena, after the Congress accused him of orchestrating the entire attack.
Meanwhile former minister of state for Home in Maharashtra government and senior Congress leader, Kripashankar Singh, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of doing caste-based politics and playing hate game in the country. "The BJP is discriminating people on the basis of caste and creed and spreading hatred everywhere," Singh said while addressing a public meeting in favour of Bhojpuri actor and Congress candidate from Jaunpur lok
Sabha seat Ravi Kishan, on Monday afternoon. He denounced BJP prime ministerial candidate and Gujrat ChiefMinister Narendra Modi for doing big talks. The former minister further claimed that his party never play politics on the basis of caste and religion and wants only development. "Congress remained in rule for few years and need some more to bring advancement,"Singh remarked. It was only in the stint of the Congress that
Jaunpur got Katai mill, Poorvanchal university, a government polytechnic, Indira Gandhi stadium and an industrial area Sathariya, he added.Addressing the gathering, the Congress candidate said that he will work hard to usher in development in Jaunpur, which was his birth place. The people were fed-up of the BSP and the SP and were keeping great expectations from the Congress, Ravi Kishan stated.
