Sleuths of the Anti Terrorists Squad (ATS) arrested another member of a gang involved in human trafficking involving Bangladeshis and Rohingyas into the country, from Hyderabad on Thursday.

On July 27, the ATS had busted the gang by arresting three of its members and had claimed that the group was involved in trafficking women and children to settle them in cities like Ghaziabad, Noida and Delhi with the help of forged documents.

As official communiqué released on Friday said that acting on inputs from the earlier arrested members of the gang, the ATS sleuths nabbed a fifth member of the gang, Mohamed Ismail of Mangdu district in Myanmar from Hyderabad (Telangana) on Thursday evening. The accused was staying in Prince Colony in Bahadurpur area of Hyderabad and abetting the gang leaders in human trafficking.

The ATS produced Ismail in a local court in Hyderabad and took his transit remand. He will be produced before a Lucknow court and the ATS would seek his custody remand to grill him.

Earlier, the ATS had claimed that they were getting information that an international gang was illegally bringing citizens of Bangladesh and Myanmar, especially women and children, to India and settling them in cities like Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi. During investigation, it was found that the leader of this trafficking gang was Muhammad Noor alias Noorul Islam, who was illegally luring Rohingya and Bangladeshi women into marriage, and men and children to work in factories. After bringing them to India, they were settled on the basis of coded forms.

Noor Muhammad was going to Delhi by Brahmaputra Mail train along with some Rohingya and Bangladeshi nationals when the ATS team deboarded five persons, including two girls, and interrogated them in Ghaziabad.

Besides Islam, the other two arrested have been identified as Rahmatullah and Safi-ur-Rehman alias Safiullah, all from Myanmar.

As per information, these human traffickers exploited victims, including women and children, financially, physically and mentally. It also surfaced that these smugglers were earning huge amounts of money from this nefarious operation.
