The ashes of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will be brought to lucknow by Medical Education Minister Ashutosh Tandon from New Delhi by a special flight around 4 pm on Sunday.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his Cabinet colleagues will receive the urn containing the ashes at the Chaudhary Charan Singh airport in Amausi here.
The urn will be kept at the Bharatiya Janata Party state headquarters here till Sunday evening for party leaders and workers and common people to pay their tributes to the departed leader.
On Monday, the ashes will be sent to all districts to be immersed in all the major rivers of the state, including Ganga, Yamuna, Chambal, Gomti, Tons, Varuna, Ghaghra, Rapti, Rohin, Kuano, Aami, Karwan, Sai, Sot, Ramganga, Hindon, Kali Nadi, Saryu, Karnali, Suhaili, Gandak, Ken, Aril, Kuano, Manorama, Isaan, Karban, Sainger, Betwa, Dhasaan, Budi Gandak, Sharda, Suheli Dhasan.
