“The recruitment process for the vacant posts of assistant teachers in the council schools of UP has started. It will help in meeting the shortage of teachers,” a government spokesman said.
It may be mentioned that in the recruitment of 69,000 teachers, the posts reserved for the General category and Scheduled Tribes (ST) were left vacant, on which the recruitment is now being done.
According to experts, these posts could not be filled due to non-availability of the ST candidates. These posts are to be filled from the SC candidates included in the merit list.
“In order to meet the shortage of teachers in the primary schools of the state, the department had conducted the examinations for the posts of assistant teachers in January 2019. The allotment list for the vacant posts of assistant teachers has been published. The records of the candidates will be scrutinised on June 28 and 29 while the appointment letters will be issued to the candidates on June 30,” he said.
The candidates will have to reach the designated counselling centre at 10 am on the day of verification along with all the documents required. The UP government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has recruited 1.25 lakh teachers during the last four-and-a-half years.
