The Apna Dal has stitched an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party and would be contesting on two seats and party’s top leader Anupriya Patel would be contesting on one of the seats.

The party would be contesting Mirzapur and Pratapgarh seats. The Apna Dal was asking for third seat of Phulpur too but had to settle for two seats.

"I would be contesting from Mirzapur and for sure win this seat for the Apna Dal and BJP," Anupriya Patel, the convener of the party told The Pioneer on telephone on Monday.

In 2009 lok Sabha elections Apna Dal had contested Mirzapur seat and had got over 93,000 votes. "This time it would a cake walk for me," she said and added that Apna dal will also do well in Pratapgarh.

Earlier in the day Apna Dal joined BJP in presence of UP in-charge Amit Shah and other senior party leaders including Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.

Apna Dal, a caste-based party, had contested last Vidhan Sabha election and Anupriya had won assembly seat of Rohnai in Varanasi. The party had contested assembly election in alliance with Peace Party.
