Declaring a full fledged war against her mother on Mother’s day Apna Dal leader and Member of Parliament Anupriya Patel declared that she was still the president of the party and warned party MP from Pratapgarh for strict action. Patel however wished her mother Krishna Patel a healthy life on Mother’s day but not before questioning her decision to expel her from the Apna Dal.
“All the documents related to her post in the party has been sent to the Election Commission, and now the matter is with EC and we should wait for Election Commission’s decision,” she told reporters here on Sunday. To prove that she still holds control over the party she said that the Apna Dal will organize a massive rally on July 2 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Party's founder and her father Dr.Sonelal Patel.
On a question whether her mother Krishna Patel is still the president of Apna Dal she said: “Only one person can hold a position and constitutionally there is no such provision that two people can hold a single position. As I have sent the matter to EC for its perusal the final decision will be taken by the EC”.
Patel even warned MP from Pratapgarh constituency Harivansh Singh of not indulging in anti-party activities. “Do not cross the limit otherwise party will take strict action against you,” Anupriya said in a terse message to the MP. She condemned the comments made by Harivansh Singh and said that being a Khsatriya it is his duty to protect people. He should not incite the bickering inside family for personal gains.
Patel was visibly angry when the questions related to her mother and party’s decision to sack her from party were asked. “I have nothing to say on this. There is a legal process and we should hnour that,” she said. Anupriya even warned her younger sister Pallavi Patel not to wash dirty linen in public. “We should not bring internal family differences in the public as some political parties and Apna Dal leaders are trying to en-cash the situation,” she said. Patel thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for selecting her in the 6 members team which is going to visit Australia this month from May 13 to 21.
