Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government and said "the anti-people policies of the BJP government stand exposed." Yadav alleged that the schemes aimed at benefiting the common people will not have any effect ahead of the 2022 state assembly elections.
The SP chief in a statement said the Uttar Pradesh government was indulging in false publicity. "The BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is running on the strength of publicity and advertisements financed from the state exchequer. Big advertisements for Kanya Vivah Yojana are being published while there is no material change on the ground and the poor parents are still in dark as to how to avail of the benefit of the scheme even after three years since the scheme was introduced. The financial assistance has affected the marriage of daughters of over 600 families in Agra. The poor have to face hardships in this government," the SP chief claimed.
"Before the 2022 assembly polls, the 'chaal' (move), 'charitra' (character) and 'chehra' (face) of the BJP has been recognised by everyone," Akhilesh Yadav said.
Targeting the Yogi Adityanath government, the SP chief said the BJP government had failed to improve the lot of the teachers and bring any positive change in the primary education. He said the primary education system was also in a bad condition under the BJP government. He said recruitment of teachers continued to be mired in legal tangle and controversy and these days teachers had also been assigned the job of construction of school buildings, mid-day meals, etc.
Targeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Yadav said, "The cabinet colleagues of the chief minister have no regard for the Mission Shakti campaign launched by the CM. The Pink Booth aimed to encourage woman help desks in police stations are also of no use as victims have complained that they were humiliated by officials instead of providing help."
