This shows party workers are ruling the roast while police has remained a mute spectator,’ Dr Bajpai said while addressing people during anti-Government protest held at Sitapur on Tuesday. Today was the last day of BJP’s two-day anti-government protest in which senior leaders, MPs and legislators took part in agitations across Uttar Pradesh.

“The state government has failed to control these crimes because it does not have the political will to fight criminals. How can CM act when his own party leaders and workers are involved in crimes at the district and village level,” he asked. “The people are living under the shadow of fear. They cannot go to police because it cannot act against SP party leaders. Thus, one can understand the agony of the people,” he said.
