Close on heels of a BJP poster depicting UP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya as `lord Krishna’ and Opposition party leaders as Kauravas raised a storm, yet another poster, this time of BSP chief Mayawati, has surfaced depicting her as 'Maa Kali'.
The controversial poster was put up for a 'dekko' on a tableau taken out to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar in Sadabad (Hathras) on Sunday evening.
The poster depicts Mayawati as 'Maa Kali' stomping on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and holding the severed head of Union HRD minister Smriti Irani with blood dripping from it. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi figures in the poster.
The poster hails Mayawati saying, 'Sherni ki tarah Sansad me dahari Mayawati' (Mayawati roared like a lioness in parliament). It goes on to say 'Behenjee hume maaf karo, hum Arakshan khatam hone nahi denge (Behenjee forgive us, we will not allow reservation to end).
After noticing the poster, the Hathras district authorities swung into acdtion and immediately removed it from the tableau.
Akin to BJP brass, the BSP too promptly distanced itself from the poster and state chief Ramachal Rajbhar said that the party has nothing to do with such posters.
Meanwhile, Balmukund Dhuria posted a similar poster with Mayawati shown as Maa Kali' holding the severed head of HRD minister and standing on the PM. The post read - 'Bhajpaiyon hoshiyar, nahin chalega jhuth, beimaani ka vyapaar, behaeji hain taiyar, abki bar baspa sarkar'.
Earlier this month, the state BJP had to warn party workers not to depict leaders as God or Goddess after new UP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya was depicted as Krishna during his visit to Varanasi.
