Another controversy in district Unnao.

Published on:

With district administration in Unnao so far failed to unfold the mystery behind recovery of over 100 bodies in the Holy river Ganga, yet another controversy gripped the town after news of recovery of several carcasses inside gunny bag, locked in rooms at local Reserve Police line on Thursday. "We could not come out with clear picture right now but a detailed report has been sought by local administration in Unnao after we heard the recovery of several carcasses inside a room at Reserve Police lines”, confirmed Inspector General (law and order), A Satish Ganesh, while briefing the media persons here on Thursday evening.

He said that SP Unnao, Mahendra Pratap Singh, had confirmed of the information aired by some news channel but until detailed report would come in this regard, it is very difficult to initiate any further proceedings in the matter, he added. Going details of the report sought from Unnao, Ganesh said that they asked to clarify some points like how the carcasses came inside the room, whose carcasses were kept in the room, for what purpose that room has been used, whether window or doors were not opened, and who was responsible for keeping the carcasses inside gunny bag and later locking them in rooms, for how long the carcasses were lying there etc.

Earlier sources confirmed that panic gripped in Unnao after reports that several dozen of carcasses have been found inside gunny bags. The bags were locked inside a room at Reserve Police line in Unnao. The news spread like a wild fire and senior officers immediately rushed to enquire the matter. The recovery reportedly shocked everyone, particularly, as there in no reason that carcasses were kept locked in Reserve Police lines. Beside’s it also surprised that how the local officials failed to notice it till now and why no one tried to enquire that why a room inside the police lines was lying locked.

It may be mentioned here that earlier this month, Unnao was also rocked when over 100 of bodies were found floating inside Holy river Ganga in the town. The officials tried to hush up that matter claiming that it has nothing to do with crime, and it was a ritual  adopted in the area by local resident by throwing the bodies of unmarried persons particularly girls inside Ganga. They, however, conducted examination of all the bodies with the help of forensic experts to rule out any foul play in the matter.
