In yet another attack on modesty of girls, five car borne miscreants teased some lady athletes and when they raised objection, the accused tried to crush one of them to death in Saharanpur on early Wednesday morning.
While the victim who was minor was shifted in injured state to District Hospital, local police managed to arrest two of the accused and recovered the vehicle used in the crime. Senior Superintendent of Police of Saharanur, Vijay Yadav later claimed that stern action will be taken against the accused in the matter. Reports said that some women athletes were running outside the stadium in Saharanpur when five youth occupying a Maruti Wagon-R (UP11S-6038) started teasing them at Kutcheri pul in the Sadar Bazar area on the city.
The matter took an turn when the girls raised objection and also called up some of their male colleagues for help. Agitated with the girl’s move, the accused tried to kill them and hit vehicle on one of the athlete identified as Vidya (16), hailing from Gangoh area of Saharanpur. They also tried to crush her to death but luckily she jumped to save her life. In the meantime her colleagues also arrived at the spot so the accused escaped sensing trouble for them.Vidya was immediately rushed to the hospital by her colleagues where her condition was stated to be serious but out of danger. later the victims called up local police and narrated the entire story before them after which the cops swung into action.
They registered a case in this regard and traced out the owner of the vehicle and conducted raids and managed to arrest two of the accused identified as Indrajeet, a resident of Sadar Bazar area and Sabez, hailing from Ashirwad Colony of Saharanpur. Efforts were now on to lay a trap on remaining two of the accused.
