The STF sleuths are already grilling the TET paper leak mastermind Arvind Rana. Another accused in the same case, Nirdosh Chaudhary, has already surrendered in a Shamli court. Chaudhary had sold a photocopy of the examination paper to Kandhla resident Vikas for Rs 5 lakh. He is a teacher in a primary school in Aligarh.

“Babloo, an accomplice of Arvind Rana alias Guruji, the main accused in the UP TET 2021 paper leak case, has been arrested by the team of Uttar Pradesh STF,” an official communiqué of the UP Police confirmed on Sunday.

Babloo disclosed that he helped to find aspirants after collecting Rs 10,000 each to facilitate photostat copies of examination papers. Babloo claimed to have procured the paper from another accused Monu.

Earlier, Arvind Rana alias Guruji, the kingpin of the UP TET 2021 paper leak case and the gang leader who copied in other competitive examinations, was arrested by Uttar Pradesh STF from Budhana in Muzaffarnagar.

Rana’s partner Rahul, also wanted in the UP TET 2021 paper leak case, has also been arrested.

STF Additional Superintendent of Police Brijesh Singh said that Arvind Rana, originally a resident of Jhinjhana in Shamli, was a big mafia of the state involved in paper leak or copying and was operating not only in Uttar Pradesh but his gang members were spread in Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand and other places.

He said the gang used to leak papers while breaking into many competitive examinations, including SSC. In many competitive examinations, including Uttar Pradesh TET 2021, he got thousands of ineligible people fraudulently employed by taking money by sitting as a `solver’.

The ASP said that four cases were registered against the accused and he was wanted by the Kankarkheda police. At present Arvind Rana was living in a luxurious house in Pallavapuram.

According to the statement of the STF, Rahul said during interrogation that he had talked to Monu, a resident of Jhal, to get some candidates qualified in the TET exam. In lieu of this, he had already given Rs 6 lakh to Monu, but the said candidates were not admitted in the examination. After that, the TET exam paper to be held on November 28 was given to him by Monu in lieu of Rs 6 lakh given earlier, which he had taught to 20-22 candidates. In lieu of this, Rahul had taken Rs 50,000 from each candidate.

Arvind Rana said during interrogation that he had told Rahul that he should bring the UP TET paper from Monu and together they would prepare the candidates. After that, Rahul had brought the said paper from Monu and together they taught the candidates by taking Rs 50,000 from each candidate.

He also disclosed that for the last 15 years, he was running the paper solver gang. The accused used to make plans to leak the paper by opening coaching centres in other districts including Shamli. So far, the papers of six competitive exams were leaked by him.

Arvind Rana alias Guruji along with Rahul provided the papers of competitive examinations by collecting money from the candidates. Along with this, the candidates were also provided solvers. In 2013 also, Rana had helped 50 candidates clear the SSC examination. Then a case was registered against him in Lucknow.

The SSC paper was leaked in Delhi in the same year. In the same year, solvers were also provided in railway recruitment exams. A case was also registered against Arvind in Budhana police station. The police had sent Arvind to jail at that time.

Solvers were also provided in the UP Police recruitment exam in 2018. Arvind had opened a coaching centre in Shamli in 2019. He was working from this coaching centre to get candidates recruited by leaking the paper. At that time, a sum of Rs 4 lakh was taken from every student in the name of admission. Apart from this, a huge amount was recovered by youths who cleared the fire service recruitment exam in 2019 with his help.
