Alleging large-scale financial irregularities in lucknow Development Authority, senior IPS officer Amitabh Thakur submitted an application with the SSP, lucknow to get a case registered and demanded a high-level probe against officials. Thakur met SSP, lucknow Deepak Kumar on Fridayand handed over a letter alongwith some documentary evidence.
The IPS officer’s wife Nutan Thakur said that her husband was contacted by Ramkumar Singh from Azamgarh, who informed him that lDA officials had shown huge salary paid to him in their accounts even when he never worked in the development authority.
Singh revealed that he saw Form 26AS of his PAN No AIJPS1813J for assessment year 2016-17 and was shocked to learn that on October 7, 2015, the lDA had paid him Rs. 11,92,848 through its TAN No lKNl00280A of which Rs 3,69,782 had been deducted as TDS and deposited with Income Tax department. As per Form 26AS, the amount was paid to Ramkumar Singh inder the head of ‘salary’.
Singh said that he had no connection whatsoever with the lDA and had never worked in the institution. In addition, no money actually came to Singh’s accounts from the lDA. Thus, his PAN number was fraudulently used to siphon off Rs 11,92,848 which was shown as his salary paid by the lDA.
Singh claimed to have written to Secretary, lDA on March 6, 2017 to get the facts enquired but no action was taken. He then contacted Amitabh Thakur and handed over all documents apprehending large scale siphoning of funds from the lDA exchequer by marking it as salary to ‘employees’ who in fact never worked there.
Nutan Thakur said that her husband met SSP lucknow Deepak Kumar on Friday and presented all facts seeking immediate registration of an FIR in the matter. Thakur has also written to Vice-Chairman, lDA requesting him to enquire whether such similar cases have taken place in the Authority. So far no case has been registered against anyone
