In a bizarre move, a senior officer of Indian police services cadre lodged a complaint against his own senior colleague alleging that she had taken many Police Medals just as she was in the decision making body. In an communiqué released to the media here on Sunday evening, IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, claimed to have presented a complaint to Director General of Police (DGP), A K Jain, against IG (ADG) Karmik, Tanuja Srivastava, alleging that she took many medals for herself and about arbitrary provision of police medals.
Thakur said that IG Karmik is a member of Police medal selection committee and Tanuja has got Kathin Sewa medal on 25 March 2014, Bar to Kathin sewa medal on same date and President Police Medal recently on 26 January 2015 while many IPS officers senior to her have not got this medal so far. He said that many IPS officers have been provided police medals without any definite pattern, which needs to be properly evaluated.
