Amit Shah targets Rahul: Democracy not in danger, dynasty politics is

Hitting out at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks in the United Kingdom, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that democracy was not in danger; it was casteism and dynastic politics (parivarwad) that were in danger and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had defeated the dynastic parties.

Addressing a public gathering in Kaushambi on Friday after inaugurating the Kaushambi Mahotsav, Shah hit out at the Congress, claiming that the idea of dynasty and autocracy by one family was in danger.

Attacking the Congress, Shah said “Rahul baba, not democracy, your family is in danger”. He said Modi ended dynastic politics, ended appeasement and “that's why you are scared”.

Shah said the Samajwadi Party, the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress did not want abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution but with the will power of Bharatiya Janata Party and Modiji, this work became easy and now there was peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir.

He asserted, “Kashmir is ours and we have eliminated terrorism there. By abolishing Article 370, we made Kashmir ours forever.”

Speaking on the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha member and the Congress protest against it by wearing black attire in Parliament during the recently-concluded budget session, Shah said, "The country will not forgive opposition parties for disrupting Parliament proceedings over Gandhi's disqualification."

“Never in the history of independent India has the budget session ended without one proper discussion. The opposition members didn't let Parliament function, the reason was Rahul Gandhi's disqualification as a member (of Lok Sabha).”

Attacking Rahul, he went on to say, “It's the duty of all citizens to follow the law, and you were a parliamentarian. You can challenge the conviction and fight it out in court. You have wasted Parliament's time, the country will not forgive you for it," he remarked, adding, “The people of the country see and understand this as well. Once again, the Modi government will cross 300 seats in the 2024 polls,” Shah said.

“We have come here with a resolution to make Modi the prime minister again in 2024.”

Union Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Kaushambi Festival 2023 with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On this occasion, both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak were also present.

Exhorting the people to vote for the BJP again in the 2024 general election, Shah also slammed the Congress, SP and the BSP for allegedly delaying the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“All of us wanted Ram temple in Ayodhya to be built at the birthplace of Lord Ram. The Congress kept it (the issue) hanging, the SP diverted it, and the BSP lingered it. Modiji laid the foundation stone of the temple, and soon you will see Lord Ram seated in his temple,” Shah said.

In the battle of 24, lotus had to be fed on every seat of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, he added.

The Union home minister said that Kaushambi was considered to be the most prosperous of the 16 ‘mahajanapadas’ of the Buddhist period and Emperor Ashoka also stayed here after the Kalinga victory.

He also said that Uttar Pradesh was moving ahead on the path of development under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

In 2014, the people of UP reposed their faith in Prime Minister Modi. “In 2017, when I was the BJP chief, the BJP won a record number of 325 seats (in UP) and Modiji made Yogiji chief minister. In 2019, the SP, BSP and the Congress got united, but all of them were defeated, and Modiji once again became the prime minister. After this, in 2022 (UP assembly elections) you made Yogiji the chief minister again,” Shah said.

“Modiji has made the country prosperous and enhanced the pride of the country. And the Congress people say ‘Modi teri kabra khudegi’ (Modi your grave will be dug). I want to tell these Congress people that whether it is Soniaji, Rahulji or anybody else, whenever abuses are hurled at Modiji, the public has made the lotus bloom in the mud of these abuses in a strong manner,” Shah asserted.

“Rahul Baba, this time again Modiji’s government is going to be formed with ‘300-paar’ (over 300 Lok Sabha seats),” he claimed.

Earlier, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the address by saluting the mythological and religious land of Maa Ganga and Yamuna's Doab. He heartily congratulated the winners of the MP sports competition. Laying the foundation stone and inaugurating works worth more than Rs 612 crore in a district is a big deal in itself, but the Yogi government did it. More than 16,000 players took part in the Sansad Khel Spardha organised in Kaushambi. Out of them, 3,324 players have been honored, an official spokesman of the government disclosed.

Shah first travelled to Kaushambi district where he launched or laid the foundation stone of various development projects at gram sabha Fasaiya. Later he was scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the Hariharpur Sangeet Mahavidyalaya at Namdarpur in Azamgarh.
