Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary constituency Amethi is very much worried about the absence of their lok Sabha representative. Now a police complaint has been lodged by an opponent political leader about the missing Congress vice-president for the past 46 days. The latest initiative to look for the Gandhi scion has been taken by Quami Ekta Dal leader Mohd Hasan lahri, who had contested last year’s lok Sabha election against Congress vice-president in Amethi and lost securing just about 4,500 votes. leading a delegation of Quami Ekta Dal, lahiri on Friday, lahri met Amethi SP, Hira lal, and handed him a complaint about the local MP going missing.
“They came to hand over a missing report complaint for Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. I have taken the complaint and we are looking into it,” the SP has confirmed on Saturday. Before filing the report, lahri and Quami Ekta Dal workers took out a procession in Amethi raising slogan — Dhoondo dhoondo pradhan mantriji, humare saansad kahan hain — asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to search the Amethi MP. later talking to reporters in Amethi, lahri said, “It is better to quit politics than do it in this manner. Amethi has a huge Muslim population, a large number of whom voted to make him MP for the third time. Because of un-seasonal rain, crops have been destroyed and most households do not have much left to eat and survive. Even roads are in extremely bad condition. It pains us that he might come back on April 19. Thus, we decided to take out a procession and file a missing report to search for Amethi MP”, he stated. Earlier, several posters had come up declaring reward for information on “Missing Amethi MP”. Some other posters carrying a list of problems being faced by the people in the constituency had also come up. Apart from Amethi, similar posters were also put up in Bulandshahr, Allahabad and Jhansi.
