Amethi witnessing welfare schemes in BJP rule: CM

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Thursday that after remaining deprived of development for the last over five decades, Amethi was witnessing people-oriented schemes being taken up during the Bharatiya Janata Party regime as Prime Minister Narendra Modi believed in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

Yogi, who was in Amethi to review the arrangements for the proposed visit of Prime Minister on March 3, told media persons that despite being the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Amethi district had languished because political leaders or the previous regime never thought of implementing schemes in this region that could benefit the people.

“Leaders of the previous regime used people’s votes to win elections and form government but never implemented any project which could give employment to the locals at their doorstep,” Yogi said.

The Chief Minister said that the wheel of development had moved rapidly in the past year-and-a-half in Amethi district.

“Amethi will soon be seen galloping on the path of development as both the Uttar Pradesh and the Central governments have initiated several welfare schemes in the region,” he said.

Yogi said that the Prime Minister would visit the district on March 3 to kick-start and lay foundation stones of various schemes and projects and inaugurate the proposed project related to manufacturing of the latest AK series rifles in collaboration with Russia.

He directed the officials concerned to install at least one board each displaying information about various government schemes and works in every village of the state.

“Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi are schemes that have changed lives and people should know about them,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister also attended the Prime Minister’s ‘Mera booth, sabse mazboot’ programme through video-conferencing at Gurukul Gyan Academy in Gauriganj.

He later said that the Prime Minister’s address would go a long way in invigorating party the workers and ensure a grand electoral success for the BJP at the hustings. Many senior party leaders attended the programme at Amethi.

Meanwhile, talking about Modi’s itinerary, BJP convenor of Amethi Lok Sabha constituency Rajesh Agrahari said, “The Prime Minister will visit Amethi on March 3 and besides attending a government programme at Korba Munshiganj, will address a public meeting in the Kohar area of Gauriganj here.”
