The rumors of Amar Singh re-joining Samajwadi Party gained grounds on Tuesday when the expelled leader met the whole Yadav clan of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav on Tuesday ahead of crucial Rajya sabha elections slated for November.

Singh tried to ignore the curiosity this meeting has raised by saying “Hangama hai kyon barpa…”  Singh admitted that he first met Shivpal Singh Yadav and later met Mulayam Singh and Akhilesh. “It was an informal, cordial meet. I am not joining Samajwadi Party,” he said trying to scotch rumours. Confirmation as a sort came from Shivpal Singh Yadav who termed Singh meeting with Mulayam Singh Yadav as a good beginning. He told reporters in Balrampur that the party will consider if he (Amar Singh) comes up with some proposal.

Sources in the party say that his Singh’s sudden Mulayam prem has a Bollywood connection. Sources aid that Bonney Kapoor played an instrumental role in bringing Mulayam and Akhilesh close to Amar Singh.  “This all happened after Bonney Kapoor met Akhilesh Yadav few months back,” the Samajwadi Party source said. According to sources, the meeting between Singh and Yadavs continued for about 45 minutes. “Several important issues were discussed between the two leaders along with the strategy for the coming bymelections in the state,” sources said.

later talking to reporters Singh said that he cannot forget Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family members for their honour and respect showered on him. “I am surprised why such a hue and cry over the meeting,” he said. “ Hungama kyu barpa hai, koi chori ya daka to nahi dali hai (Why such hue and cry, I have not stolen anything).” Singh said, just like Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot “forget Shanker Singh Vagela, similarly I cannot forget Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Singh Yadav.” Surprisingly, Singh did not mention the name of another S P leader Ram Gopal Yadav, who is his strong critic. “ My relationship with Mulayamji is not a political or for business purpose. It is purely a family relationship and I am elated at receiving such respect and honour from this family,” he said.  “The meeting which you are discussing about are not new. It was purely a private meeting and I cannot disclose anything,” he said On the possibility of a Rajya Sabha ticket from the party or rejoining the party, the former SP leader did not give any straight answers. “Wait for some time you will get your answers,” he replied. Earlier, SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav, a strong critic of Singh, had said in Mainpuri that the reports of Singh joining the party were rumours.Shivpal Singh Yadav however clarified that Mulayam Singh Yadav will take a final call on this. On August 5, the birth anniversary of SP leader Janeshwar Mishra here, Singh shared dais with Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav after a gap of four years.
